How to Choose the Right Rental Car in Oman
Car rental prices in Oman vary with the car category, the rental length and the season. Economy cars such as the Hyundai Accent and Suzuki Dzire are the cheapest way to get around a city, while four-wheel drives such as the Nissan Patrol and Toyota Land Cruiser suit mountain trips and sandy roads.
If you are staying longer than a month, a monthly rental can cost less than the same days booked one by one, because companies can lower the daily rate for longer rentals; choose Monthly in the search to see the actual price. Arriving through Muscat International Airport? Choose a car that offers delivery to your hotel or address, or ask the company about an airport pickup before you book.
KIRA shows the cars of the rental companies registered on it straight from their own systems: once you pick dates in the search, only the cars actually free for that period appear, with their total price including VAT, and the price shown when you complete the booking is the final price for the booked period.

How does booking a car through KIRA work?
KIRA brings together the cars of independent rental companies registered on its platform. You choose a car and dates and send a booking request, which the rental company confirms; the rental contract is between you and that company.
Is my booking confirmed as soon as I send it?
No. Your request goes to the rental company to confirm, and the booking binds both sides only once it is confirmed.
When and how do I pay?
You pay the rental company at pickup, unless the company offers online payment and you choose it.
Is the price shown final?
The price shown when you complete the booking is the final price for the booked period, and the company may not raise it at pickup. It does not include what arises during the rental, such as fuel, exceeding the kilometre limit, traffic fines and late-return fees.
Do I need a security deposit?
Some companies ask for a refundable deposit. It is shown before you confirm the booking and is not part of the rental price.
What is the cancellation policy?
You can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup. Later cancellation, or not showing up, follows the cancellation policy shown on the booking page.
Which documents do I need at pickup?
Proof of identity (ID card or passport) and a driving licence valid in Oman, plus any extra requirement the rental company shows on the booking page.
Who is responsible for the car and the rental contract?
The rental company owns the car and is responsible for handing it over, its condition, its insurance and the rental contract. KIRA is the technical intermediary that connects you.
